This episode is our first HDTV. (We also have a 32 "Vizio for children is used.) I spent a lot of time researching HDTV technology to know what is hype and what is important. I spent some time in comparison shopping is to get an idea obtain the differences, although often they did not have the same content or too far apart to easily compare. I read every review I've found. I could not in-depth professional reviews, but I found many like this. The core of my research suggests that the SV370XVT probably serve our purpose well, but I really can not offer an expert opinion, compared to other similar series. If it were for sale at the destination for the Super Bowl, I bought it. Now it is mounted on the wall in the bedroom, replacing a CRT TVstop.
Overall I'm pleased with this set. The viewing angle is wide, so it works well in all bedrooms (with a common Sanus MF110-B1 wall mount for 26 "to 42" Displays (Black)). I set the backlight at about 25 for the night, which, because otherwise flood the room with light. I can not talk about the picture quality of 1080p HD content, as we do not have Blu-Ray, but it works very well with the DVD that makes the sharpest I've ever seen. OTAHD programming looks very nice, but since this is 1080i, the best (or is it 720p?), is certainly not an ideal testing ground for TV, so I have not tried the HD performance in a set can last.
Play in full screen (4:3) DVD may require composite or component video inputs, depending on the DVD player. The remote is a bit 'weird. We are pleased with this TV. It 'a lot better (and bigger) of our old set. The 4:3 display (via component input) is a little larger than a standard TV 32-inch, 16:9 aspect ratioDisplay (via HDMI) is a bit 'bigger.
